Release Notes

This Addin for SQL Server Management Studio 2008 allows you to find Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers that definition contain a specified string.

You can open the search window by selecting "Object Finder" from the Tools menu or by using the hotkey ctrl/shift/F.

Enlarge or dock the window so that it fits your needs.

Select a database from the Object Explorer you want to search through. Enter the phrase and klick on the search button. The objects containing the string are getting listed. You can open the definition by double-click on a list entry.

The selection of the current database in the Object Finder window now works for all database elements. That means you don't have to click on the database anymore to select it. You can also click on a table or even a column in the Object Explorer. This makes your selection faster.

Reviews for this release

Does not work with SQL 2000. I get: "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid object name 'TestDB.sys.sysobjects'. Invalid object name 'TestDB.sys.sql_modules'." I'm giving only 2 stars because this limitation it not stated anywhere.
